Why Teach Math?

I am a math education major and will become a teacher in a few years.  I am excited and thrilled, but also nervous and stressed.  What will it entail?  Can I even make a difference?  Will I be able to inspire my students?
Growing up I have always loved math, it has been my favorite subject since I was small, I have no idea how or why I started to like math as a young child.  But I love helping people with math.  I would help my friends and would even teach the class when the teacher was gone and loved it!  Some people say that I have a natural talent for knowing how to answer other's questions and guide them to the right answer.  I just know that I love the glowing smile that creeps up on their face when the concept "clicks" for them.
I am just barely learning how to be a teacher and a lot of the classes are overwhelming and there is so much information and expectations.  Hopefully I learn what I need to, to become the best teacher that I can be.  At this point in my education, I just know that I want to be able to make a difference.  Have the world be better because I inspired some student that goes on to do some amazing thing.
